David Moret

David Moret is the President and founder of Highline Real Estate Capital (“Highline”) which is a Florida based, value-focused real estate investment company targeting the Southeastern United States.  Highline seeks to acquire properties where there is a dislocation in value due to temporary market conditions or where they can create strategic advantages through their market knowledge, relationships, or operational expertise. Highline invests directly and in joint ventures in addition to providing rescue capital through a discretionary fund vehicle.

David Moret founded Highline in 2016 and is directly involved with all elements of the firm’s strategic direction and operations. David has spent the majority of his 28-year career focused on sourcing value add office and retail investments in partnership with private and institutional capital providers as well as overseeing the execution of the applicable business plans. His relevant experience has included the extensive renovation and re-tenanting of office projects, the redevelopment and ground up development of shopping centers, the acquisition of core and core plus investments as well as a wide range of distressed debt and other real estate investments.

Prior to starting Highline, David spent 20 years at CREC as a partner and head of the firm’s acquisition and investment group, a role he held for over 12 years. David started his real estate career in CREC’s real estate services division where he was involved with multiple areas of commercial real estate operations including direct responsibility for the leasing of more than 2 million square feet of office projects, the sale of more than $1 billion worth of commercial assets on behalf of the firm’s private and institutional clients and serving as an advisor and court appointed receiver on a wide range of retail, office, hospitality and residential projects representing more than 2 million square feet.

David graduated cum laude from the University of Florida in 1991 with a BS in Business and a Major in Real Estate and received a Juris Doctor Degree cum laude from the University of Miami in 1995. He is a member of the Florida Bar, a licensed Real Estate Broker as well as being involved with several civil and real estate related organizations.
