Senator Mack Bernard was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. In 1986, he traveled from Port-au-Prince, Haiti to Delray Beach, Florida. He quickly adapted by learning English, excelling in his classes, joining JROTC in high school, and becoming a championship wrestler. After graduating from Atlantic High School in 1995. Senator Bernard went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice from Florida State University in just two years while also working full time. Senator Bernard received his Juris Doctorate (2002) and Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Florida in 2003.
Senator Bernard has been an attorney for over 24 years and a public servant for over 18 years, serving as a former Traffic Hearing Magistrate, Deputy Vice Mayor for the city of Delray Beach, Florida State Representative, Florida Election's Commissioner, Mayor and County Commissioner of Palm Beach County. Currently, Senator Bernard is serving as Florida State Senator for District 24. Senator Bernard and his wife, Shawn Bernard, have two daughters who are attending college at Howard University and University of Central Florida and one daughter who's in the sixth grade. They are all proud to call Palm Beach County home. Senator Bernard has dedicated his life to giving back to his community and serving Palm Beach County residents.
