Adi Chugh is the Chairman & CEO of TYKO Capital, which is a Commercial Real Estate Investment Management Platform headquartered in New York and is a Joint Venture between Adi Chugh and Elliott Investment Management.
Adi was previously the Founder and CEO of Surya Capital Partners, a nationwide CRE private equity and debt advisory firm. He brings extensive experience from working on Wall Street across various sectors and across the balance sheet. He founded Surya Capital Partners at the end of 2010 as he identified an opportunity in the distressed real estate space. Since then, he has built a network that includes relationships across the lending and equity world – including top private equity firms, large institutional
investors, and real estate sponsors. He has arranged over $40+ billion dollars in transactions since inception, including traditional debt products, joint ventures, Co-GP investments and other capital stack arrangements.
Adi began his career as an Investment Banker with Wachovia Securities in their Leverage Finance Group in March 2004. He then moved onto the Equity Capital Markets Group in New York, and he placed approximately $16 billion of financings in his time at Wachovia. From there, Adi moved onto becoming Vice President for Kotak Mahindra; one of the largest Indian investment banks. He also worked for Merrill Lynch in New York.
Adi grew up in New Delhi, India and moved to the states to attend college. Adi then attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA and graduated with a degree in Economics and International Business & Management. He has been an avid public speaker and debater, speaking at events globally. He is also a die-hard fan of the Indian Cricket team. Adi is involved with major charities focusing on underprivileged children and providing needs to the community – namely Children’s Hope India and the Met Council amongst others.
