From the Music Business to Real Estate: Rick Ross Invests in His Hometown
Rick Ross is a Grammy-nominated rapper, record executive and entrepreneur whose business portfolio spans music, franchising, consumer brands and real estate. Born William Leonard Roberts II, Ross grew up in Miami Gardens’ Carol City neighborhood and rose to prominence with his 2006 debut album, Port of Miami. He founded Maybach Music Group in 2009, launching the careers of artists including Meek Mill and Wale, while building a diverse portfolio of business ventures, including Wingstop franchises, equity investments in beverage brands Luc Belaire and Bumbu, and consumer products.
In 2026, Ross expanded his entrepreneurial reach into real estate development, joining EnSima as a partner. His involvement in EnSima Miami I, a planned mixed-use residential and retail development in Miami Gardens, marks a return to his hometown and an opportunity to invest in the community where he grew up.
